A Jesus for Joe the Plumber
October 18th, 2008
Recently “Joe the Plumber” has become famous for being the face of the American Dream. A man who wants to know where he fits into the next presidents plan for our country. Sometimes that’s how we feel about God, we wonder how we fit into his plan.

God loves a “Joe the Plumber,” an average Joe. Not anyone special. Just a man with a dream. God uses anyone who is willing to let him use them. He doesn’t care where you grew up, or about the car you drive, or the size of your home, or how much money you have. His concern is your soul.
In Matthew 4:18, Jesus recruits two fishermen to become his disciples. He could have easily picked two lawyers, or physicians or tax collectors, but he chose two fisherman. In a day where people are hurting and in need of something to be sure of, God is calling for some “Joe the plumbers” to be used for his work.
