Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV) The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

Your greatest need is to be loved. But we have Love Masks. Love Masks are things we put on to disguise our real need for love.

  1. Performance
  2. People
  3. Pity
  4. Position
  5. Physical Affection
  6. Pleasure
  7. Possession
  8. Problems

When we get our arms around God’s love and we know that it’s personal and it has our name on it, we can live life with no wants. And I can have no wants because…

  1. God knows me & He still loves me
  2. God also protects me
  3. God will guide us

You hear about this type of love.

  1. You receive God’s love
  2. You refill yourself with God’s love
  3. You reflect God’s love to others

Service 6: “Worship”

April 12th, 2008

1) Worship strengthens the heart
Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

2) Worship opens the heart
Matthew 13:9 “Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

3) Worship assures the heart
Psalms 48:1 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.”

4) Worship refreshes the heart

Matthew 18:3 (KJV) And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Knowing How to view & interact with God as your father.

Knowing That God wants to bless you with your desires.
Psalms 37:4 (KJV) Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Using Wisdom concerning our desires is essential.
Ecclesiastes 6:2 (KJV) A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.

God Knows His children were created like Him.
Genesis 1:26–27 [26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. [27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

  1. He understands our emotions, intellect, ect.
  2. He knows our needs, physical and spiritual.
  3. He knows our weaknesses and our strengths.

Why Do We keep asking for things we know we don’t need?

Why Do We measure His love by His giving us what we want?

Why Don’t We trust Him when He’s keeping things from us?

This message takes a panoramic look at the dinner table and examines what it takes to bring a special meal from inception to implementation. And then it challenges us to use that as a model for serving others.
